La Semaine du Son Competitions in 2021
2068, make place for sound!
This international competition, launched in 2020 during the International Year of Sound, aimed at encouraging students at Higher Education Institutions specialized in space design to collaborate with students specialized in sound, and develop a reflection on the sound design of our living spaces that goes beyond the question of the noise abatement to imagine the landscapes and the soundscapes of to-morrow’s public squares.
It is pleasing that the first prize was awarded to an international collaboration between students from Paris and Barcelona. The overview of the winning entries can be found at this site and the explanations and videos can be viewed here.
Inhabiting public space: Design the atmospheres of public space where we can hear and talk to each other!
This competition is launched during 2021, the continuing International Year of Sound, and has similar intent to “2068, make place for sound !” in that it aims to encourage students across disciplines and across countries to collaborate and reflect on what is needed in public spaces to achieve good acoustics.
More details on deadline dates for registration and submission are available at this site.
