On the occasion of the International Year of Sound that is celebrated in 2020, some academic groups that have been working together propose a launching activity to put the subject in public discussion. It is proposed that the first activity of the year focuses on the axes of art and science, so the activity to be carried out is a day with presentations that highlight the connections between acoustics and music. The activity consists on four conferences, a presentation of the results of the Interdisciplinary Project “Hearing Health of Academic Musicians”, a round table and a concert offered by the Lyric Singing Chair of the University School of Music.
The event is open to the general public, and we will have non-academic people at the round table for the discussion: we have invited a psychiatrist, a primary school teacher, a history teacher, a nurse working at he Public Children Hospital and a pop singer; all of them are going to be discussing about how music can improve the nowadays quality of life of our society.
For announcing this activity, we are planning to go to two TV programs to invite people in general to attend the event.
