Forum Acusticum 7-11 December is a gathering of acousticians held every third year and is being organised in Lyon by the French Acoustical Society on behalf of the European Acoustics Association (EAA).

Outreach events related to this conference are being organized by Centre Lyonnais d’Acoustique and include:

• February 4 / March 12 : Draw your sound – workshops for adults and children. Several interactive experiments will allow the discovery of the applications of Fourier analysis developed two centuries ago. Fourier analysis is omnipresent at the heart of today’s digital technologies related to signal, image and telecommunications.
• March 26 : Public Lecture on “Air transportation of the future: making quieter aircraft is not a utopia”
• April 6 : Scientific concert of the Ophonius Band to be presented to 300 high school students.
• April 23 : Workshop for children : Sound in all its forms
