International Year of Sound 2020-2021
EVENT POSTPONED UNTIL A LATER DATE
The use of new technologies in art and sound is promoting the emergence of new materials and poetics for the artist; as well as new technological applications for the scientist. The main objective of this course is to experience an interdisciplinary creative process. Students will learn some of these new technologies to develop their own artistic projects around interactive sound. The character of this workshop course is both, theoretical and practical: on the one hand the state-of-the-art in the use of technology and interactive sound creation and, on the other, it will be studied and experimented with different families of more common sensors and actuators.
The final output of the workshop will be presented on 10 December 2020 at 13h as the closing ceremony of the International Year of Sound at Carlos III University, Auditorio UC3M. The performance will be open, announced and free for everyone (general audience). The interactive disposal built during the workshop (an interactive installation that creates sounds with the presence and movement of the body) will be shown and the creative process to get there will be explained: the relations between sound, body and technology.
