Human Communication

Speech communication has always played a critical role in human society. People talk generating coded speech sounds that others can hear and interpret. From time immemorial, the capability for speech has enabled the transfer of ideas between individuals and groups, for warnings, for planning of the hunt, for commerce, and so on. Many languages have developed to consolidate the various speech sounds into systems of communication.
